When looking for roofing solutions, you should take value for money, environment, safety and many other considerations into account. And so multi- layered tiles are a green alternative to conventional tiles.

As the name suggests, these tiles are made up of different substances that are layered upon each other. Steel core is the centrally placed material which is then covered in zinc aluminium. A chromate conversion layer is then put over which an epoxy coating is made. The topside of the tile is then coated with acrylic resin whereas a polyester is applied on the underside of the tile.

A good quality multi- layered tile provide us a huge range of the advantages and are listed below. These tiles use recycled steel for its production. Approximately 25% of the recycled steel is used for this purpose, thereby keeping the environment safe and healthy.

These tiles are approximately one tenth in weight as compared to their counterparts. Moreover, the multi- layered tiles are strong enough to cope up with the bad weather conditions.

Thinking of the tiresome and lengthy installation process, some people drop the idea of covering their roof with proper material. But installing these tiles is a great leisure as they don’t require cement or any other material to fix them. Builders simply use dry fixing to cover the roof with multi- layered tiles.

Cement tiles are cut by an angle grinder that releases dust into the environment which in turn is inhaled by people indulged in the work, thereby causing many health hazards. In contrast to these traditional tiles, multi- layered tiles use reciprocating saws and tin snips thus, preventing health problems.

Many people think that if a tile is light weight is more prone to breakage. But this is not the case with new multi- layered tiles. Being highly resistant to damage, the overhead expenses and overall cost of installing roof tiles is much reduced.

Multi- layered tiles being so advantageous have become a trend among the residents and the builders. People living in coastal regions generally prefer these tiles because of their durability.
