We all know that appropriate lighting is very essential for homes. Lights are needed to carry our day to day work. Also, they enhance the beauty of a place be it our house or office place. Therefore, lights should be carefully selected.

Different kind of lights are required for different areas of the house like kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms etc. They should be chosen according to the design of the house and should suit the overall environment of the place.

Kitchen is where you and your family will spend a lot of time so take the time to light it well so that it becomes an inviting and pleasant space to be in. A ceiling fixture that lights the whole kitchen area is a must. One should also think about a proper color scheme while choosing the lights for kitchen. These days dimming systems are becoming very popular as they help to regulate the brightness.

Bathrooms vary in sizes, so lights can be decided accordingly. Recessed lighting in an enclosed shower stall is the most appropriate for bathrooms. Mirrors should have lighting fixtures mounted on the either sides. If you have a jacuzzi tub, a ceiling fixture with a dimmer switch can be used.

A chandelier is the best option for a dining room which makes it look unique and beautiful. It should be hung 30 inches above the table top and should be at least 6 inches narrower than the table on each side. A good lighting system can add depth or excitement to any area.

Bedrooms does not require a ceiling fixture. You can go in for beautiful night lamps like the LED round night lamps. One can also use mini pendant lights for bedroom as per their own choice.

For a Family room, a ceiling fixture with a dimming switch is a must, which will be great during a party. There should be separate lights for game table if any and table lamps should be there next to easy chairs for reading purpose.
